Intended Audience & Purpose of Content

This Web site is designed for anyone who wishes to learn more about their health, the health care system and related issues with a particular focus on primary immune deficiency. CTZebras.com is designed to support your understanding of health matters and not to replace the relationship you have with any health care provider(s). If you do not have a primary health care provider, we urge you to seek out a primary care provider in your community who will know you personally and can advise you about your health concerns. You should check with a qualified health care provider who knows your health history before you:

  • Change any medication you take or treatment(s) you are receiving
  • Stop any medication you have been advised to take or medication that has been prescribed for you
  • Start a new medication or treatment, even if it is discussed at CTZebras.com

Recommendations made in articles on this Web site are intended to be for general information purposes. We cannot make any personal recommendations since we do not have your personal health history nor have we examined you. You should never disregard advice you have received from your health care provider or delay seeking treatment or advice because of something you have read on this site. If you use information from this Web site to change your medication regimen or treatment plan without advice from your personal health care provider, you do so at your own risk.

Determine if Content is Appropriate for Your Children

Because this site deals with a variety of health issues, there may be articles or images on this site that some people may think are inappropriate for children and/or young adults under age 18. We urge all parents to participate in their children’s exploration of the Internet and any online services, and to teach their children about protecting their personal information while online. CTZebras.com is not directed to children under the age of 13. Click here to learn more about children’s Internet use.

While we know which pages are viewed most often, we do not know who visits any particular page. If you provide your e-mail address via a form on this Web site, your e-mail address will not sold, rented, leased, loaned, bartered, made public or shared with anyone or any company. Your message and the reply provided to you will either be archived electronically, we may file your comments for future reference, or we may discard the information after we have reviewed it. Your information will not be made public or provided to a third party without your express permission. If you have any questions or concerns about our privacy policy, please tell us.

Attribution / Authorship

For articles on this site (“content”) we will provide the original date of publication, and the date(s) of review to confirm that the information remains current. If one or more studies or another Web site is discussed in a post, links will be provided when available. Posts are written by Patricia Carroll, RN-BC, MS, RRT. If no references are provided in a particular article, the content is based on her knowledge and experience as a health care professional. Every effort will be made to provide balanced information about treatments, products, or commercial services mentioned in the site’s content. If you believe we have not been as balanced as we could be, please send us an e-mail message and let us know how we can do better.
